Kwōt was built by passionate quote-keepers that don’t want to forget the quotes that have impacted them, challenged them, and intrigued them. They built Kwōt because even though words are powerful, they’re too-often forgotten. They’re misplaced, accidentally deleted, or left on a bookshelf… but not anymore.Kwōt provides a seamless & beautiful experience of collecting, categorizing, and recalling quotes.

My team

I worked on creating this app with an incredible team that included a product manager, developer and occasionally a test engineer. My role included brand design, product design and web design graphic design for marketing materials.

Problem

We identified a gap in the market for technology solutions for users who capture, categorize and recall quotes. Products like iOS notes are too simple and other products like evernote are too complex. The existing solutions make it difficult for users to search for their quotes they've captured.

Question

How might we help people capture their quotes in a way that makes it easy to find and refer to when they need it?

Solution

We set out to create a solution that is simple, beautiful and above all, intuitive to use.

Ideation & Branding

After we tested the idea & researched competitors, I set about curating the aesthetic of our brand and overall user experience. After a week or so, I had gathered inspiration and branding concepts for our application.

Feedback

After interviewing users about the mobile app, we found a common thread of desire for a desktop web app. Users appreciate that their quote library is mobile, but some power users such as students, want a broader interface tailored to organization tasks. As a direct result from this feedback, we recently released a simple desktop version of the application.

Ongoing Support

Our key functionality is Capture, Organize, Recall. Logging your quotes into Kwōt puts your library in your pocket, making it possible in any moment for you to capture the quotes you read, the lyrics you heard, the idea you conceived—and tag it for easy recall when you really need it.

I'm currently acting as a supportive role on this team helping with new feature design, marketing materials and strategic support when necessary.
